Excellent points.

Ann C.

I have to laugh, no offense, at these "Jews come home to Israel" articles. It's bad enough for a Jew to face a terrorist attack abroad, but to face a terrorist attack AND THE FORCED REMOVAL FROM ONE'S HOME (in Israel) is really a bit too much. No thanks, lol.

Thank you for the lucid call to the Brits, who are long overdue to wake-up to the reality.
I pray they will answer the fishers before hunters' season.

I think that Britain should do a unilateral disengagement from London.

Zalmi U.

Michael, you are absolutely right and I think you would be surprised to know just how many young families, with comfortable lives and businesses here in the UK are on the point of packing up in the face of continued demonisation of their homeland in the press, bbc, with Livingstone and Galloway. The UK will rue the day it lost its Jews just as Spain looks longingly back to its glory days before 1492.

Zalmi may be surprised to learn that England's Jews were pillaged and expelled by Edward I in 1290, two centuries before the Spanish. They were brought back by Oliver Cromwell 350 years later. As for the rest of it, I'm sorry to say I agree with Barry's comment above.

I was surprised at the response of the British. When I watched a European channel, it seemed like they were most interested in the markets and not much else. It seemed strange to me.
Anyways even though it's chaotic in Israel, it still might be a good time to go home.

worldnetdaily.com July 11 2005 ‘Al-Qaida nukes already in U.S.’ ‘Terrorists, bombs smuggled across Mexico border by MS-13 gangsters’ “According to captured al-Qaida leaders and documents, the plan is called the “American Hiroshima” and involves the multiple detonation of nuclear weapons already smuggled into the U.S over the Mexican border. Al-Qaida has obtained at least 40 nuclear weapons from the former Soviet Union - including suitcase nukes, nuclear mines, artillery shells and even some missile warheads. The plans for the devastating nuclear attack on the U.S. have been under development for more than a decade. It is designed as a final deadly blow of defeat to the U.S…thousands of al-Qaida sleeper agents have now been forward deployed into the U.S. to carry out their individual roles in the coming “American Hiroshima” plan. The future plan, suggests the attacks will take place simultaneously in major cities throughout the country - including New York, Boston, Washington, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles…”

G8 leaders have promised nine billion dollars to the Palestinian Authority over the next three years.

The following is an excerpt from sermon by Sheik Ibrahim Mudeiris, May 13 2005 on Palestinian Authority TV (transcribed by Memri TV monitor):

We have ruled the world before, and by Allah, the day will come when we will rule the entire world again. The day will come when we will rule America. The day will come when we will rule Britain and the entire world - except for the Jews. The Jews will not enjoy a life of tranquility under our rule...The day will come when everything will be relieved of the Jews..The stones and trees will want the Muslims to finish off every Jew."

Israelinsider.com July 8 2005 ‘From London to Gaza’ by David Bedein: “In recent weeks, American, British and Israeli intelligence sources have revealed that al-Qaida units now operate in the southern section of Gaza, and are positioned to take over the area that Israeli Defense Forces would vacate, if the proposed retreat plan is indeed carried out by the Israel government…”

Gaza is to be transformed into Hamastan - the largest terror base in the Middle East with its own airport and seaport - and al-Qaida - a major threat to the entire world.

worldnetdaily.com, July 18 2005 ‘Al-Qaida’s U.S. nuclear targets’ “The series of attacks is designed to kill 4 million, destroy the economy and fundamentally alter the course of history. New York and Washington top the preferred target list for al-Qaida leadership. The captured terrorists and documents also suggest smaller attacks may take place on American soil before the nuclear incidents. They may include some involving automatic weapons at schools and shopping malls. Another requirement dictated from the top at al-Qaida is that the attacks take place in daylight, so that the whole word will be able to see the images of a mushroom cloud over an American city…”

Mr Freund - this kind of scaremongering is totally out of line. You constantly stress that Israel should "not give in to terrorists", and now you're saying that British Jews should flee their homes in the face of terrorism that is not even directed at them specifically.

I'm a British oleh in Israel, and I'd love more Jews from the UK to make aliya. But I want them to do it for the good things that Israel promises them, not out of fear of terrorism back home. Your views seem to be suffering from a lack of coherency.

I, too, find Freund's position incoherent. As we know, Israel has been far more subject to terror than the US or UK, and there is no end in sight. Furthermore, the UK is at least a democracy, whereas Israel is at best a borderline case. The size of either the US or the UK means that a nuke or two will not end the country--the same cannot be said of Israel. The logical thing to do for a Jewish Brit is to move to some place that is democratic but has few Muslims. Australia maybe?

And really, Israel is no place to be a Jew. It's a great place to be an Arab, though.

There are far more many Jewish people that live in countries other than Israel who regard those countries as home than there are those who WILL emigrate to Israel [even if they have a genuine opportunity to so do]simply BECAUSE they regard Israel a being their home. As for returning "home", I am, and have neither the need nor the desire to emigrate to any foreign land, including Israel. This, because I am at home. Besides, if I for any reason felt I wanted to leave this country, there are some 20-25 others I would consider long before thinking of Israel, and even then it would only be a fleeting thought since I would long previously have moved to one of the others. Return "home"? - get serious; one can hardly return to a place one has never been and has never had a notion to visit, much less emigrate.

Oh yes, how wonderful it were if only all these Hebrews left the UK!

I have to agree with Ann C.

Israel wants Jewish persons in Britain and America to come to Israel???

Why? The gov't is terrible. The terrorists are allowed to murder women and children. And then the gov't works against it's most ardent supporters: the settlers.

Hmmm. Stabilize the country first. Make and ENFORCE logically defensible borders and THEN you might get some better response to "Come to Israel".

Interesting comments - some valid, some not.
But really there is only one question we need to ask...
Where is 'home' for the Jew?
For Gentiles, it might be the place where they live...For the rich, the house they live in...For the poor, the arid region where they try to scratch a living...For the nationalist, the country they live in.
For the recluse, anywhere they can hide - et. al.

In any event, it should be a place where people can live in peace and security, with government support. Eating food they enjoy, working for reward, bringing up children in love and with respect.
A place where they are NOT threatened on a daily basis.
A place where their religion is respected.
A place where buildings and holy sites are not desecrated.
A place where they can practice the best aspects of family/commercial life, nationhood, with respect and tolerance for each neighbour. It should be that way for every person, in every country, but often, it isn't. Israel is no different, except for one reason...the dispute by others that Jews are not even entitled to be there in the land.

So for the Jew, where is Home?
Where has it ever been!
It is the place where they BELONG!
It is the place GOD chose for them to live!S/he who challenges that, or HIM, simply cannot win.
It is the land and nation of Israel from the time of Abraham, to its present existing state.
Israel today, is where they belong.
Israel, the state voted for the survivors of the Holocaust and world Jewry after Hitler's attempt to wipe them out in Europe.
The land mandated by the British, and part of TransJordan, unanimously accepted by the rest of the world on November 29, 1947 as a home for Jews dispersed around the world.
Israel, the land the General Assembly of the United Nations voted for, with a 2/3rd's majority, to make 75% of the desert land there into a Jewish and Arab state.
Whilst the Jewish population accepted the plan which accorded them a diminished state, the Arabs rejected it.
The Arabs not only rejected it, but attacked Israel from all sides. On the day that Israel declared its independence, the Arab League Secretary, General Azzam Pasha said, "This will be a war of extermination ..."
The Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Al Husseini stated, "I declare a holy war, my Moslem brothers! Murder the Jews! Murder them all!" On May 15th 1948 the armies of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq invaded the tiny new country after telling the Arab population that they should 'flee from the
slaughter to follow' and with the declared intent of destroying the Jews completely.

Has anything changed for the Jews since Israel became their home? he place that they are legally entitled to reside in, and belong to.
Apparently not!
How can it be a place where they should be safe, secure and accepted when all their neighbours seek their total annihilation?
Never, even in the periods of greatest persecution, and dispersion, have the Jews as a people renounced their belief that Ha'aretz Y'Israel - the Land of Israel - remained the one and ONLY homeland, unchanging and irreplaceable by unrelenting insistence.
Despite articles to the contrary, one of the most astonishing elements in the history of the Jews, is that there was continuity - waxing and waning at times - of active and productive Jewish life in the country, including the time of Jesus, so vividly recorded long before Mohammed even existed.

So yes, it is time to bring all the expertise and talents back to the land that the Creator made for them. A place that is not just a home for a community of believers - but a place where they RIGHTFULLY BELONG!
For spiritual, scriptural, legal, moral, ethical, equitable, and peaceable reasons, if nothing else.
But NOT according to most Arabs, or many others in the rest of the world!
Again I ask - where is home for them?
If NOT in Israel - where IS the home to which the Jews belong????
