Say Goodbye to Europe
By Michael Freund
If you ever wanted to see Paris or Rome before you die, but haven't had a chance to do so, you might want to hurry. Soon enough, most of what we now think of as Western Europe will be transformed into a branch of the Muslim world, which is sure to make it an even less welcoming place for Americans, Israelis and for Jews.
That, at least, is the unpleasant, yet entirely unavoidable conclusion to be drawn from Europe's headlong demographic drive toward oblivion.
Think I'm exaggerating? Consider a few cold hard facts.
According to a recent report by the Rand Corporation, "Across Europe, birth rates are falling and family sizes are shrinking. The total fertility rate is now less than two children per woman in every member nation in the European Union."
Needless to say, demographers consider a birthrate of 2.1 children per family to be the replacement level at which a society's population size remains stable. Barring large-scale immigration, anything less means decline and dissolution.
A research study published last year in the International Journal of Andrology found a similar trend, concluding that, "Fertility rates have fallen and are now below replacement level in all European Union (EU) Member States. In the 20-year period since 1982," it noted, "most EU Member State countries have had total fertility rates continuously below replacement level."
At the bottom of the list are Spain, Italy and Greece, where birthrates hover around just 1.3 per couple, leading some forecasters to suggest, for example, that Italy's population could shrink by one-third by the middle of the century.
Others, such as Germany's 1.37, the UK's 1.74 and Sweden's 1.75, aren't all much better.
The figures are so bad that in many European countries, the total number of deaths each year has actually begun to exceed the number of births.
Indeed, the Council of Europe's 2004 Demographic Yearbook warned that, "for Europe as a whole, more people died in 2003 than were born." In 1990, said the yearbook, "three countries - Germany, Bulgaria and Hungary - had negative natural growth for the first time. By 2002, it was negative in fifteen countries."
LAST YEAR, after the publication of statistics revealing that 30 percent of German women have not had children, Germany's family minister, Ursula von der Leyen, caused a stir when she said that if her nation's birth rate did not turn around, the country would have to "turn out the light." And while Europeans may be busy everywhere but in the bedroom, the Muslim populations in their midst are proving far more expansive.
As columnist Mark Steyn points out in his must-read new book, America Alone, "What's the Muslim population of Rotterdam? Forty percent. What's the most popular baby boy's name in Belgium? Mohammed. In Amsterdam? Mohammed. In Malmo, Sweden? Mohammed."
Last month, the UK Daily Telegraph reported that, "Mohammed, and its most common alternative spelling Muhammad, are now more popular babies' names in England and Wales than George."
This, said the paper, using typically British understatement, "reflects the diverse ethnic mix of the population."
But that "mix," so to speak, is rapidly changing - and not in traditional Europe's favor.
ISLAM, BY all accounts, is the fastest growing religion in Europe, spurred by immigration and high fertility rates. According to projections by the US federal government's National Intelligence Council, the continent's current Muslim population of 20 million will likely double by 2025.
And as Bruce Bawer noted last year in While Europe Slept, "Already, in most of Western Europe, 16 to 20 percent of children are Muslims…within a couple of generations many [European] countries will have Muslim majorities."
Not since September 8, 1683, when the Ottomans were threatening to breach the walls of Vienna, has Islam been so perilously close to seizing control over Western Europe.
The implications of all this are far graver than we can even begin to imagine, and it is not just a matter of choosing new and more hospitable tourist destinations.
An increasingly Islamified Europe will prove ever more hostile to Israel and America, and this trend will only intensify as the Muslim population there continues to grow.
Even if European governments succeed in reversing the curve, which seems highly unlikely, it will be decades before it would begin to be felt. In the meantime, however, Muslim political power on the continent will develop and expand, and European leaders will be hard-pressed to ignore their demands.
This makes it far less likely that Israel and the US can count on Europe - if they ever really could - at times of crisis in the decades ahead. Just pick an issue, from the war on terror to Palestinian statehood, and you'll see what I mean.
For however unbalanced Europe's stance has been until now, it will likely only grow worse in the years to come.
Europe as we know it is a thing of the past, and it is time for Israeli and American decision-makers to take this into account as they plan for the future. The face of Europe is changing rapidly, and with it the continent's social and political make-up.
So if you really want to see the Eiffel Tower up close, you had best not delay. Before you know it, it might just turn into a minaret.
As they say in French-Magia Lahem!

There goes the fate of Europe - It's time to say 'ahlan wa sahlan' or Marhaba Eurabia!
It was prophesied by Daniel 2600 years ago, when he interpreted Nebuchadnezzar's dream of a huge image made of various metals - head of gold, chest and arms of silver, belly and thighs of bronze, legs of iron, feet partly of iron and partly of clay (Daniel 2:31-33). It summarizes the various kingdoms in history.
Now what we are seeing is the Revived Roman Empire in Europe - that is mentioned in (Daniel 2:41-43).
v.41. The feet and toes partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as the iron mixed with clay. (European socialism and Islamic fanaticism)
v.42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile.
v.43 As iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.
All is not bad news, because this final kingdom will be crushed.
We are seeing prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes, just before the Jewish Messiah sets up his kingdom on earth. (Daniel 2:44-45).

Good evening Dr. Freund,
back at reading your blog after a very hot and busy beginning of 2007 (here in Canada, anyway). One is supposed to work and make a little money once in a while, you know - otherwise without money one cannot pay the electrical bill and, thus, cannot take advantage of and receive the full benefit of reading your wonderful articles - but I digress.
Your post very closely resembles a comment I made to a prior article of yours, the one entitled ‘In Praise Of Christian Zionists’ and, in fact, the fertility figures you cite are pretty much identical to mine – with the difference consisting in the fact that I took them from the UN Demographic Yearbook 2006. The point I was making back then was also slightly different, in that I was (and am) viewing an ever increasing militant Islam as a threat to Christianity in addition, of course, to Judaism, whereas in this article your are factually stating that an ever increasing militant Islam is a threat to Europe directly, and to Israel and America by reflection.
As there is an evident syllogism here between our two stances, of course I am entirely and completely in agreement with you.
While I am at it, furthermore, I found interesting the comment of reader Dijon Maxwell above, and as a former European myself and someone who travels to Europe very frequently – mostly to Germany and Italy (I am fluent in both languages) - I would like to spend a couple of words on it.
It is not a matter of ‘fanatic Zionism’ or even of democracy or lack thereof, and clearly the Muslims that come to Europe are or otherwise will become Europeans. And that is the way it should be. Certainly nobody is suggesting that diverse societies like the Europeans seem to have become should suddenly adopt a policy of non-tolerance towards Muslims, or towards anybody else for that matter – especially Jews. But there are a couple of points that are worth mentioning, though.
The first is that European societies, jointly and severally, have been traditionally homogeneous for centuries – unlike America, for instance, that was born heterogeneous. And that, therefore, this newly-found openness of Europe and welcome embrace of foreigners with open arms – whether Muslim or non-Muslim alike - and affectionate hearts is a direct and proximate consequence of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, a relatively new phenomenon that spans back only a couple of decades more or less. Before 1990, Europe was very much closed to non-Europeans, and Western Europe was off-limits to the East and, even more so, the East to the West. And then, if we jump back in time even further, we plunge into an ocean of blood which is the direct and proximate consequence of all the wars, revolutions, conquests, massacres, slavery, torture, slain and all those other sanguinary acts and deeds that Europeans – my ancestors – have committed throughout time invariably in the name of God, but always to satisfy their thirst of power and riches, which spans back millennia until we pretty much drown into the onset of civilization.
And because of its relatively young age, I would question whether this European openness has passed the test of time, or if it is in fact a mere and ephemeral consequence of the otherwise shaky foreign policies of each individual European member state, and all of them. And I also would argue against Mr. Maxwell’s call that “It is constant transformation the living force of Europe to remain.” – certainly not judging from what he aptly terms the “demonstration of history” – of Europe, that is, as aforesaid.
The second comment I would like to suggest follows the footsteps of the point Mr. Freund is making in the article in the matter of the balance – or imbalance as the case may be – of the political relations between the EU and Islam vis-a-vis that of the EU and Israel and, even worse, between that of the EU and America. And I would certainly share in Mr. Freund’s warning that this abysmal political course of conduct of Europe towards both Israel and the United States and in favour of Islam is only bound to grow worse with time – specifically because of an increasing Islamist presence in Europe. And specifically for the purpose of understanding this point which otherwise would take too long to explain here, I would suggest all those interested to read an article I published online, which can be found here: http://ezinearticles.com/?Capitalism-Under-Attack:-Petrodollars,-Petroeuros-and-the-Iranian-Oil-Bourse&id=400023 .
Which article goes to prove that Islamic terrorism is now poised to spread into the financial markets with the more or less covert complicity of ... Europe.

The fact that there is a growing Muslim minority in Europe is worrying for Jews living there, but to say Europe will become Islamic in the next 50, 100, or even 1000 years is completely exagerated.
The Rand Institute is not a serious source of information. I would remind you of its links with Scientology, and urge all Jews to stay away from it. Such movements are of a much greater immediate threat to Jews than Arabs in Europe, if only because they come in the guise of "friends" and are actually dangerous nasty cults.

Demographics alone mean nothing and despite a declining European birthrate the threat of a Muslim take-over there is remote--an over-exaggeration of the facts in the field but what is important is that Muslim and some non Muslim countries see the Euro as the means to topple the present economic order controlled by petro-dollars-for that Luigi deserves top marks.
What is transpiring in Europe is the ascension of an Economic Colossus quiet capable of leaving the United States in the economic doldrums--that threat is very real and since Muslim States such as Iran along with non-Muslim States like Russia deal in Petro-Euros then the present Global Economic System based on petro-dollars is going to get very shakey indeed--leading to an economic collapse globally as America enters one of its worst depressions.
This New European Economic Order is the New Babylon spoken by Daniel the prophet but its weakness is that it relies on Muslim oil producers--very unstable Islamic regimes-iron of Europe doesn't mix well with Muslim Clay.Christian Book of Revelations speaks of its ascension to greatness and what its global agenda would be if HaShem did not intervene and permit the Grand Alliance of the United States to subdue its Islamic fundamentalist enemies especially Iran and Syria.(Who do you think inspired America's President to strengthen the American Alliance at this vital stage in human history) According to our Torah and the prophet Daniel this Economic Colossus is denied its first step to Global Dominion because the clay of the former Eastern Roman Empire(stretches from Turkey to Pakistan)is going to lose the 1st stage of WWIII thereby delaying Europe's dream of Global dominion by 19 years-immediately following the Fundamentalists defeat is the rebuilding of the Third Temple and a stabilization of our present economic global order-after that a Russian led European Asian Alliance will push into the M.E.and try to seize the Holy Mount but again Divine Intervention will destabilize their European Asian forces just as it did the Arab forces at Bozrah-read the Torah and thank HaShem for his overwhelming mercy for us and the nations(who fear his greatness). Without HaShem's historical intervention in Asia Europe would dominate International Commerce globally and have total control over this world's finances making nations mere commodities to serve its perverted excesses--An oppressive bureaucracy capable of controlling every human activity on earth-Christians call it the great Tribulation. BUT HASHEM'S AGENDA IS DIFFERENT--WHAT WILL BE IS THE REDEMPTION OF JUDAH AND JOSEPH UNITING THEM INTO ONE GREAT POWERFUL NATION THAT NO ONE WILL EVER CONQUER-DANIEL'S STONE OF DESTINY -- THE OTHER DECREED OUTCOME IS THE ABSOLUTE DENIAL OF BABYLON ASCENSION TO POWER AND DOMINION--RULING OUT ANY GREAT TRIBULATION MADE POSSIBLE SHOULD EUROPE BE ALLOWED TO ACQUIRE THE GLOBAL DOMINION OF MANKIND BY DOMINATING GLOBAL COMMERCE AND CONTROLLING THE WORLD'S FINANCES.

Europe's downfall to Islam would be also Israel's ruin. It would turn a not very reliable (but still) ally into an open enemy. So America and Israel also have to think about strategies preventing the islamization of Europe.

Great article. I have links to France (my in-laws), and have found a sort of troubling symbiosis between French socialism and Islamic domination. France has the highest birthrate in all of Europe (I believe this was according to UN studies, but I can't be 100% sure where I read it). However, this birthrate is dominated by naturalized French citizens from North Africa and Islamic countries. France has a very generous social welfare system that encourages people to have children, and pays a monthly amount (allocation familial) that increases with the number of children you have. Since the immigrants have a higher birthrate in France than ethnically French people, the government is basically financing its own demographic shift to becoming an Islamic state.
So here's a bit of a connection: socialism helps to breed Islamification. One more reason to work hard to push for more conservative governments worldwide.

Wake up Europe. Listen to Sir Winston Churchill:
"Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step." -- Sir Winston Churchill - circa 1899

InshaAllah, that pic will become reality soon. We'll take Europe not by sword. But she will came to us like a chick come to its mom.

I did a bit of research and discovered an interesting, yet largely unknown, little fact: Arab states provide less than 3 percent of the annual budget of UNRWA, the UN agency that assists Palestinian refugees throughout the Middle East.
By contrast, Western countries cover some 95 percent of the organization's finances each year.
